Hello from Peppered Perspectives
Hi, I’m Edina—a self-taught cook, passionate baker, economist, English teacher, blogger, and lover of all things food! My culinary journey began during my university years in Italy, where I discovered that food is more than just sustenance—it’s a celebration of life.
It was the time I spent in Italy that truly shaped my perspective on cooking. Living in a country where food is a way of life taught me the importance of using fresh, wholesome ingredients and creating meals that nourish both the body and the soul.
Born and raised in Hungary, I’ve had the privilege of living in incredible places like Italy, Ireland, Thailand, Vietnam, and now, Malta. Each destination has added a unique flavour to my cooking style, but my heart always finds its way back to the simplicity and elegance of Italian cuisine.
Why I Started This Blog
I believe that cooking is more than just preparing meals—it’s a social activity, a way to bond with family, teach children about the importance of nutritious food, and create memories around the table.
This blog is my way of sharing:
- Authentic, step-by-step recipes from Italy and other international kitchens
- Healthy, make-from-scratch meals your body will thank you for
- Kitchen tips to make cooking enjoyable and approachable for everyone
Whether you’re a seasoned cook or stepping into the kitchen for the first time, you’ll find something here to inspire you. From indulgent desserts to wholesome family dinners, my goal is to help you cook with confidence and enjoy the process as much as the final dish.
My Philosophy
Food is love, health, and connection. It’s about taking the time to create meals that bring joy to your family and friends while nourishing your body with real, whole ingredients. Whether it’s a classic Italian tiramisu, a comforting bowl of soup, or a flavourful stir-fry, there’s something magical about creating food with care.
